Beschreibung:
The Nürburgring Endurance Series, NES for short, gets the season at the Nürburgring underway on 22/23 March. Two 90-minute races on the Grand Prix circuit and an extensive warm-up on the legendary Nordschleife form the prologue to the new racing series, organised by the Automobilclub von Deutschland (AvD). To get to know the NES, with four further endurance races in the 2024 season, spectators and teams are in for a special treat: all visitors can enjoy the NES premiere with free admission from up close in the paddock and from all the open grandstands while all teams can take on the new season with plenty of driving time for testing as well as two races.
Only the prologue to the new NES will be held on the 5.148-kilometre Grand Prix circuit with a different schedule from Saturday lunchtime (12:00-18:00) with two qualifying sessions and two 90-minute races – including pit stops and driver changes. On Friday (8:00-14:00 test and set-up runs without co-drivers, 16:00-18:00 co-drivers possible) and also on Saturday morning (8:00-11:00 without co-drivers), the teams and drivers can prepare themselves for the new endurance season on the 24.358 kilometres long Nordschleife, including the sprint track. In addition to the test drives, the popular passenger rides and the course to obtain the so-called B-Permit, the first of two levels for the special full-throttle licence for rookies on the Nordschleife, offer the teams additional opportunities to use the NES season opener.
